Yosemite, Summer 2016

Yosemite, Summer 2016

Back when we were still living in LA, Will and I took a day trip up to Yosemite. Despite living in Fresno for two years, Will had never been there before! Obviously we had to remedy that, as Yosemite is one of America's great treasures. We went during the height of summer, so while the waterfalls were at their peak, so were the crowds. We spent around 45 minutes just trying to find parking! It was worth it though. We did the Vernal Stairs trail, and the waterfall was massive. We got soaked…continue reading →
RiNo Photoshoot Part II

RiNo Photoshoot Part II

Here are the rest of the photos we took in RiNo on Sunday. We managed to get some nice shots in at this cool mural before the sun was completely in our eyes.       Follow my blog with Bloglovincontinue reading →
Denver RiNo Arts District Photoshoot Part I

Denver RiNo Arts District Photoshoot Part I

Will and I headed up to the RiNo district for brunch and a photoshoot last Sunday. RiNo, short for River North, is an up and coming area of Denver filled with independent restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and breweries. It's got a very industrial vibe and interesting backdrops, which is what we had in mind for shooting some fashion pics. There are also some great murals, but we lost our light before we could get to them all! We felt a bit overdressed for brunch, but we got some good shots in before the…continue reading →

Denver Days: Our Mini Vacay in the Mile High City

Why Denver? It's a valid question to ask someone who's not a sports buff, a pothead, or just flying in for the easy access to hiking in the mountains. To be honest, I had no real reason to visit besides my boyfriend's promise that it's a super fun city. I didn't even root for the Broncos during the Superbowl - I picked North Carolina to win because I like their uniform colors better. Yet, my boyfriend came through on his promise - Denver is actually a pretty great city! The Botanical Gardens were…continue reading →
El Matador Beach Pt 2

El Matador Beach Pt 2

Will and I went to El Matador with Ernie, who is a much more experienced photographer than either of us. Here are some of his photos from that day! I think Will needs some pineapple shorts to go with that pineapple tank. He doesn't agree, though. I like this shot in front of the rocks. He's probably thinking about how cold the water is. It was super cold. The weather was amazing though!continue reading →
The Getty Museum

The Getty Museum

Last weekend, my boyfriend and I made an excursion out to the Getty. It had been a while since we went to a museum, and the Getty was having an exhibition that I wanted to check out, the replica Dunhuang caves with Buddhist art. The Getty is a very scenic museum, with views of Los Angeles, clean and modern architecture, outdoor picnicking areas and gardens. (It's also, incidentally, filled with Pokemon.) The day we were there, though, the view was quite post-apocalyptic, as there was a fire burning in Santa Clarita and the…continue reading →
El Matador Beach, Malibu

El Matador Beach, Malibu

I went to El Matador beach in Malibu with my boyfriend and another friend who gave us a DSLR tutorial (thanks, Ernie!). I'd never been to El Matador before, but it's a popular destination for photographers. We saw lots of photoshoots going on while we were there. It is a very scenic beach, lots of picturesque rock formations and blue water. We tried to get there early so as to get the best light, but we ran late and there was some traffic (as always) so we ended up getting there a little…continue reading →
DTLA Financial District Excursion

DTLA Financial District Excursion

Downtown Los Angeles has become a super fun area to go out in, despite the lingering urine smell in many areas. My boyfriend had a photoshoot for his clothing line in the financial district a few weeks ago, and we decided to revisit the area to do one for me! We were in the area anyway, at the T-Mobile in Fig & 7th where I switched from Verizon (good bye, hella expensive phone bills and unnecessary second line!); plus, Will recently got a fancy camera and needs to practice. First we went to…continue reading →
