I love me a good metallic, so today I thought I’d share some of my favorite metallic and sparkly shoes! I love shiny and colorful shoes because they can add a great pop of interest to an otherwise neutral outfit, and they can dial up a more colorful look to 11. All winter long I’ve basically been living in black combat boots and snow boots, so I’m super excited to be able to bust out some more interesting shoes for springtime… that is if it ever stops snowing here in Denver!!
First up are my Stella McCartney Elyse derby platforms. These had been my dream shoe for a long time, and my amazing boyfriend got these for me for Christmas!
They’re super comfy to walk around in, and I love that I gain an instant 4 inches when I put them on (my boyfriend does not like this part so much, haha). I try not to wear them too often because of the white sole, and because patent leather is SUPER easy to scratch and I want to keep these pristine. I pull them out when I really want to make an impression. They go with basically everything, and the rose gold metallic is so eye catching. Plus, I love anything with stars, haha.
Next up are these silver Acne Studios Adriana sneakers. I love the little emoji face detail, it adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise pretty basic shoe (besides the color of course). Unfortunately these ones run a little small, so I can’t wear them for too long or I get blisters. If you are looking at picking up a pair of these (by the way, now’s the time to do it since they’re out of season), I would go a half size bigger than what you’d normally wear.
If these were more comfortable to wear for a long time, I would probably wear them as an everyday shoe with jeans. The silver color and emoji detail elevate a basic look without being too extra. My boyfriend wears his silver Stan Smiths basically every day in the summer and it’s great for a stylish but casual look!
Finally, these glittery ballet flats are from Banana Republic. Since they’re flats, you can wear them with pretty much anything! I wore them recently with jeans for a little bit of glam at work, but you could also dress them up to be comfortable yet still fabulous at a holiday party or something. The pointy toe gives it a more classic and mature feel despite being super sparkly, and they’re comfortable to walk around in. Banana Republic is really affordable too, I got these on sale for less than $100 (well, technically my parents did, these were also a Christmas present!).
