Let’s Talk Packing Light

Unless I'm going on a two week long international trip, I pretty much always just bring a carry-on for vacations. It's so much easier to deal with, you don't have to worry about the airline losing your bag, and you don't have to wait at the baggage claim once you get to your destination. It can be a challenge to fit everything into one small suitcase, but it definitely can be done! The Essentials No matter where I'm going or for how long, the following is ALWAYS in my carry-on: Skincare: I always…continue reading →
Guide to Thrifting

Guide to Thrifting

Thrifting is one of my favorite activities on the planet. Finding a rare gem for an amazing price is such a great feeling! It can be hard to know what to look for when at a thrift shop, though, and it can easily get overwhelming and discouraging. The key is to go in with an open mind, and WITHOUT anything specific you're looking for. If you have your heart set on finding the perfect pleated midi skirt, you will definitely not find that skirt on your thrift store outing. You might, though, find…continue reading →
Last Days in Denver

Last Days in Denver

After a year and a half in Denver, we moved away about a month ago to have a new adventure in New York City. Before we left, we visited all of our favorite spots and did one last photoshoot. We took these photos by the Millennium Bridge that leads from downtown to Highlands, where our favorite ramen place was. It was late September but still felt like summer in Denver, with a heat wave rolling through. These colorful flowers made such a nice backdrop! I'm wearing an abstract flower t-shirt from AllSaints that…continue reading →
Ode to Jumpsuits

Ode to Jumpsuits

I have a confession: I love jumpsuits and rompers. I know a lot of people hate them because of the bathroom situation - and yes, it is a bit annoying to have to basically strip to use the toilet - but I love them despite this problem! I don't really like wearing short skirts or dresses because of the possibility of flashing my underwear if a breeze springs up or I need to get into or out of a car, and rompers and jumpsuits fix this issue while still being super cute.  …continue reading →
Summer Wardrobe Staples

Summer Wardrobe Staples

Ok, I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but here in Denver it went from beautiful spring weather to BLAZING HOT basically overnight. This past week has been consistently in the mid-90s, and it’s only June! So needless to say, my summer clothes have come out of storage early. Although trends change and styles and colors go in and out of season, there are some classic pieces that always make it into the summer rotation and see a ton of wear. Everyone will probably have a different take on…continue reading →
A Trip to Tokyo: Part I

A Trip to Tokyo: Part I

In April, my boyfriend and I visited Tokyo for a week and a half. It was Will's first time visiting, and my first time back in almost 5 years. We stayed in Tokyo the whole time, didn't go to any other cities or do any day trips, but despite this we didn't even make it to every place we had on our list! I wish we'd had more time there, but just taking 10 days off work put me into negative PTO haha. Tokyo (and Japan in general) is an experience. It's the…continue reading →
Tokyo Blue Coordinate

Tokyo Blue Coordinate

I bought these striped blue wide legged pants at Cecil McBee in Shibuya 109, a popular department store for teen girls/young women in Tokyo. 109 used to be known as a mecca for gyaru culture back in the mid 2000s, but recently the trend has died out. Gyaru involved tanned skin, bleached hair, and heavy makeup, but there were many different gyaru styles within the subculture. You can still see men and women (the men's version of gyaru was called gyaru-o) rocking the styles, but it's much less common, and 109 has changed…continue reading →
Metallic Shoe Roundup

Metallic Shoe Roundup

I love me a good metallic, so today I thought I’d share some of my favorite metallic and sparkly shoes! I love shiny and colorful shoes because they can add a great pop of interest to an otherwise neutral outfit, and they can dial up a more colorful look to 11. All winter long I’ve basically been living in black combat boots and snow boots, so I’m super excited to be able to bust out some more interesting shoes for springtime... that is if it ever stops snowing here in Denver!!  First up…continue reading →
St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day

Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, and it also happened to be a beautiful day, so Will and I decided to take some photos downtown. It was a madhouse near our apartment (which happens to be very near a lot of college bars), so we ventured out a bit further and found some cool out of the way alleys to take photos in. I don't own a lot of green, so my concession to the holiday was a pair of sea foam green ballet flats that I bought in Tokyo 5 years ago. Will,…continue reading →
Best Brunch in Denver

Best Brunch in Denver

Brunch is the quintessential weekend activity after going out (or staying in watching Netflix till 2am...), and my boyfriend and I have gone to quite a few brunch places since moving to Denver. Nothing can really compare to Republique in Los Angeles, but we've found some pretty great spots! We've also found quite a few underwhelming places (Root Down was a betrayal, we were expecting amazing things from one of the highest rated restaurants in Denver on Yelp but it let us down), but overall the brunch scene in Denver is not to…continue reading →
